Micaela Blitz
Producer
Micaela is an award-winning producer and journalist with over 15 years’ experience across VR, broadcast television, feature documentaries, commercials, branded content, and live events. She has worked with the BBC, Channel 4, and Netflix, delivering factual storytelling across diverse formats.
Her credits include Children of the Snow Land, our award-winning feature documentary following Himalayan children returning to reconnect with their parents after more than a decade apart, which Micaela supported from production through to UK cinema release and outreach, and the NGO Snowland Journeys, founded as a result of the film. Micaela recently produced A Journey Back, an immersive VR film in collaboration with East City Films and the Illinois Holocaust Museum. The project, which comprises personal testimony, 360 video, animation and archive, premiered at Venice Film Festival, screened at SXSW, BFI London Film Festival, numerous other international festivals, and won the Social Impact Award at the XR Awards 2024. It is now part of the museum’s permanent exhibition.
Micaela's commercial and branded content work includes Fisher Price, GWR, Mr Kipling and Zurich Insurance. Micaela also manages the UK tour of In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats, a groundbreaking immersive VR project about the UK rave scene.
In addition to her production expertise, Micaela has contributed to various online and print publications as a journalist and writer, bringing a strong storytelling perspective to her work. She is also known for her sharp wit and communication skills, qualities she honed as a stand-up comedian, which add to her skillset as an effective producer. Micaela joins Picture on the Wall Productions focusing on our projects in development, bringing her creativity, adaptability, and collaborative spirit to the team.
